Caring for Our Veterans When They Need It Most

If you are a wartime veteran or the surviving spouse of a wartime vet, you may be eligible for the “Aid and Attendance” pension through the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), which can help pay for senior care at home. We work with the VetAssist® Program of Veterans Home Care and can assist you in applying for the pension. You can begin receiving care once your application is submitted to the VA.

To be eligible for the VetAssist® Program Aid, you must meet the 3M’s: Military, Medical, and Money:

  • Military – Must have been on active duty for at least 90 days; one (1) of those days must be during a time of war. Discharge must be honorable.
  • Medical – Must have a physician’s diagnosis that shows assistance needed with activities of daily living (I.e. bathing, dressing, meal preparation, medication management, etc.)
  • Money – Must have limited income and assets.
